Gitarre & Bass
What exactly is Blues? BLUE STAR – Peter Blue / guitar
&
Elizabeth Star / Fender Rhodes piano – have created in this
minimal and intense lineup an album that has it's blue roots not
in West Africa, America or Arabia but in Asia. . ,Zen Blues‘
(www.bluestar.de) is a relaxing soundscape - minimalism, handmade
with a economic lead guitar, tremolo rhodes and vice versa. Intensity
and vibe of this music are really something special. For me, Zen
Blues is the best album of the duo from southern Germany. Must
hear!

Yellow Cab
Sneaking in all atmospheric and vibey like a soundtrack from a
Wim Wenders film, Yellow Cab suddenly drops in some snarky Peter
Green-flavored blues lines, and then splatters a gritty wash of
distortion all over your ears. Yummy. Guitarist Peter Blue also
channels bits of Santana and David Gilmour, and his phrasing is
sexy, vocal, and full of luscious space. This is a fabulous example
of truly cinematic music. myspace.com/sexyguitar.

Zen Blues
5 out of 5 stars Hmmh - slow
Reviewer: lordh
I know that there's a vast difference between the two and that
I'm about to commit heresy of the third degree, but I just have
to compare this CD to "Bohren and the Club of Gore"
;) Slow, atmospheric wafts of sound woven together in a tapestry
of glacier-like rhythms... I would love to hear more from Blue
Star!!
4 out of 5 stars Ain't no shufflin blues

It's like watching a lava lite in lunar gravity ,or maybe its
like listening to ice weep, or maybe its like feeling the dew
form. It's good to know there's an ointment one can apply when
the soul gets the blues.

While I could careless about the whole zen thing, I enjoy this
album a great deal. Blue's guitar is Cooder-esque at times and
I feel like I'm in the movie theatre watching a psycho or mystery
thriller the way the brooding guitar and gentle electric piano
takes you through one cool scene after another. It's an hour of
utter listening pleasure.
Feng Shui Perfection

I love this CD. The gentle sounds are pefect for a feng shui "metal"
cure. I keep it running all day to cure the 5 mountain star in
my living room. If we're watching tv I just turn the volume way
down. The music is so beautiful and unintrusive, I've had no problems
playing it constantly. I highly recommend this CD. It's music,
but it's as if a gentle stream is playing guitar...just beautiful.

Stellar performance....again!
Reviewer: Don Randolph
A few years back I heard about this group and ordered their sample
CD. It was amazing! Finally artists that took the B3 to new heights.
Being a Hammondologist, I am used to hearing the McGriff, Smith,
DeFrancesco and a few others style of "kickin' the 3",
but Peter and Elisabeth add a whole new twist with their musical
talent. If you want to go beyond the nightclub scene, this is
the CD for you.
Smooth, Cool Talent
Reviewer: Dean Prescott
Great guitar work here. The beautiful landscape of the music unfolds
with each tune. Tight rhythm section. I highly recommend this
CD to anyone who likes good funky, groovy, cool music. Did I mention
the Hammond B3 is great too? This CD has many many aspects to
it. You can play it wherever you go and at anytime. Here's to
Blue Star!
Reviews from online magazins and the www
Smokin' acid flavoured jazz that kicks along with a funky lope
and defies you not to start
a-fruggin'. But this is no sloppy one chord jam session free for
all; there's a steely
professionalism about the arrangement - everything is carefully
layered and placed, every
facet is under control - yet the track still bristles with a fundamental
energy. Wah-wah guitar,
Hammond organ and a contemporary beat for the feet are the principle
elements of the
music, appearing in tightly organised segments. The final minute
is given over to a searing solo
from overdriven electric guitar which soars and widdles with the
attack and panache of
mid-seventies Larry Carlton. (Peoplesound about "The Task"

Very tasty!" (about "Ride The Tide")

Hinter der Formation Blue Star stecken
nur zwei Personen: Gitarrist Peter Blue und Keyboarderin Elisabeth
Star. Die Musik? Sehr rhythmusbetonter, gitarrenorientierter Instrumental-Groove

liked it a lot.
BOBBY BLAIR said 9/13/00 :
Ive just listened to two tracks by Peter & Elisabeth. Im not
an expert on any thing in life....but I will say I have
played music now for 29 years....and the way Peters guitar and
Elisabeths B-3 sounds together is the union of
Love in music. They have a sound everyone works for...and I loved
it.Peters guitar playing is even far more in
depth than I realized. You can feel what he is expressing straight
to the bone. Elisabeths keys are the
foundation of their expressions. When you listen to them...You
really have it all...you dont need anything else
in the room to distract you.Its a sound you can close your eyes
too and sway...dream...come to a peaceful inner
place. I thouroughly enjoyed these cuts...and hope to be blessed
someday as to make music with them..This is
good..*S*

These guys already have what Clapton & Moore are still working
on: Killer guitar hand in hand with beats and
samples.
PAUL said 8/25/00 :
does sound like Santana
I said 8/24/00 :
It's Carlos Santana. I swear it is!!!

Comments: Peter and Elisabeth, I love your music and your site.
Both are very inventive, and your music is just as blusey as
that played here on Bourbon Street! In fact, you're better than
most local groups. Best of luck to you both!
........ your music is excellent and very interesting. I like
the strong minor chords! And, the guitar work reminds me of Albert
King. Best of luck to you! Rick Allen, New Orleans
Wonderful site - nice samples of your music
and the bio is well presented. Interesting instrumentals - similiar
to Uli Roth's
electric sun ballads, melodic and expressive guitar work.
